From May 12 to 15, Joost Helsen and Deepak Pant, Project Managers from VITO, attended the International Society of Electrochemistry (ISE) Meeting, celebrated at Toledo (Spain) where they presented the PERFORM project to stakeholders at the company booth.
ISE organized its 25th meeting with the objective of bringing together researchers from fundamental research and technological applications to boost novel electrochemical processes. In this context, PERFORM (PowER platFORM) was one of the key projects to be exhibited.
PERFORM, a project under the European Commission Horizon 2020 SPIRE programme, aims at developing highly efficient and integrated electrochemical systems which will substantially improve sustainable production of valuable building blocks from bio-based feedstocks.
Within the scope of the project, an electrochemical pilot reactor is expected to be built and, in order to demonstrate technologies and innovations, TNO, VITO and Hysytech will construct a flexible PowerPlatform pilot.
Apart from the aforementioned partners, the consortium is also formed by Avantium, INSTM, Gensoric, Sustainable Innovations, Perstorp, University of Hohenheim, Radici Chimica, AVA Biochem and Novamont.
